That's weird...Starting now and running through the entire month of December we will be offering 1 Tapas menu every tuesday to choose from.
Why Choose Tapas?
Food trends come and go, we either indulge and forget, or simply obsess, but the fad that has evolved into a cult-like staple is tapas. Tapas refer to a dining style where restaurants serve many small plates of food with big flavours. What you receive is a plethora of little treats. And what treats they are! Dishes run the gamut from innovative, to quite simple and home cooked. At The Belworth House we have comprised a list of twelve choices; you can choose 4 for $25 (equivalent to an entrée) or 6 for $35 (equivalent to an appetizer and entrée). This is a great way to try nearly every dish on a menu without committing to just one, or regretting a pricey bad choice. When shared as a group, the dishes offer anywhere from a bite, to a slice, to your very own savoury.
Explore the varieties of meat and seafood. Test your taste buds, the sauces and garnishes make for surprising combinations.
Don’t overlook what seems like regular food. Cheese plates, bruschetta often employ surprising ingredients, giving classics a new taste.
If you don’t like it, don’t worry, your friends might! Feel free to pig out!
Pace yourself. Take your time and ENJOY yourself!
Most importantly, challenge your palate. You never know what is out there unless you sample it!
Now that you are armed with your tapas technique, call us and make a reservation, tapas can be enjoyed every Tuesday Night (even through the holidays).
Thank you for joining us at The Belworth House! I want share some thoughts and ideas on how this menu came together. My goal with food is to maintain the integrity of the dish by accentuating good products & staying true to the ingredients.
Over the years I find that I’m maturing in ideas of what food represents. I believe it is my increased knowledge of farming, travelling and being proud of where I come from and what I have available in Norfolk County and Canada. I find I always cook for what I like and enjoy, which is constantly changing because each day something new comes to my ‘back door’.
This menu represents the great artisanal products that I have locally, but as well showcases the diversity of our Canadian melting pot, various ethnic ingredients, practices and traditions. I’ve based my creations on our regional ingredients & Canadian cuisine but thrown in some attitude & twists by taking what I know and incorporating what I am becoming. We have coined our cuisine as ‘Regionally wired, Globally Inspired’.
Some of the salads on this menu are served warm, it’s our fall/winter season and the feelings & flavours in these ingredients will reflect that. Taking salad ingredients that we’re use to and warming them adds depth and enhances the flavours. The contrasts are what make the dish enjoyable. My entrees are reflecting the hardiness of the season…. the warmth…… the comfort.
I am proud to use local products and I hope you enjoy the great smells of harvest and richer bolder flavours of the season. These are the things that bring us together to the table to share with family & friends, creating memories with food & wine.
